The Game Boy is the second handheld made by Nintendo. It is the successor of the Game & Watch series and was designed by Gunpei Yokoi who also concepted Daisy during the development of Super Mario Land. The system features the classic NES buttons which are in the case A, B, Start, Select and the D-pad. It was released on both America and Japan in 1989 and in Europe in 1990. It uses cartridges to play games, just like the NES. It has a dot matrix screen with the function to set contrast.
